Madison SCD & Related Events​

  • Sunday Dance Classes 7:00 - 9:00/9:30 p.m. Wil-Mar Neighborhood Center. 504 S. Brearly St., Madison, 53703. Enter from S. Brearly Streetr and walk up the stairs to the Yahara Room. Proof of vaccination is no longer required as of July 1, 2023.  New class policies noted here. We dance every Sunday night, including during the summer, unless noted here in red. Occasional "Newer Dancer" and "Advanced Dancer" classes are tought at 6:00 p.m. on Sundays, before regular class. They are announced on our group email list and posted below..

  • August 10, 2026. Registration opens for Adult Beginner Classes at noon for Madison residents through MSCR. More information.

 

  • August 15, 2026. Pool/Picnic Potluck. Janice's home in Beloit. 2:00 pm swimming, 4:00 pm appetizers, followed by dinner and games.  Rain date August 22.

  • August 23, 2026. Social Dance. Regular Sunday class but with limited teaching. With ice cream sundaes and live music from Dave Mullen! Dance program.

  • August 29, 2026. Milwaukee SCD Summer's End Dance Party. 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. With live music from Dave Mullen. More information.

  • September 4-6, 2026. Wisconsin Highland Games. With demo by Milwaukee SCD. More information.

  • September 9, 2026. Scottish Country Dance Workshop Class through Madison School & Community Recreation. More information.

  • September 16 - November 4, 2026. Scottish Country Dance Adult Beginner 8-Week Class through Madison School & Community Recreation. More information.

  • September 27, 2026. Scottish Showcase. St. Andrew's Society of Madison. Afternoon demo at the Capital Brewery, Middleton.

  • October 5, 2026. Scottish/English Country Dance. 7:00 - 9:00? p.m. Wil-Mar Neighborhood Center, 504 S. Brearly St. With music by Dave Wiesler and Mary Deck.

  • November 8, 2026. MSCR Graduation Dance Party. 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Wil-Mar Neighborhood Center, 504 S. Brearly St.

  • December 12, 2026. Milwaukee Dance Party. 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.

  • January 2, 2027 Winter Dance Party. 3:00-5:30 p.m. Wil-Mar Neighborhood Center, 504 S. Brearly St. Potluck afterwards at a member's home. With live music by Dave and Liam Mullen.

  • March 19-21, 2027. 47th Annual Madison Ball Weekend. Great Hall, Memorial Union, UW-Madison. With musicians Dave Wiesler, David Knight, and Dave Mullen.

  • ​March 21, 2027. No Sunday night dancing due to Ball Weekend.

  • June 4-6, 2027. 16th Annual Midwest Scottish Weekend. Wayland Academy, Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. More information.
